There are different laser applications on mono, polycrystalline and thin film solar cells such as ablation, edge isolation, drilling, cutting and marking.

We can top off our product range with several patents e.g. a patented technology for laser glass cutting called MLBA-technology (Multiple Laser Beam Absorption). Sheet glass is predominantly cut by scribing and breaking. The advantage of laser cutting with the MLBA-technology on the other hand is that you gain a crack-free edge thus increasing the stability of the module.

ROFIN offers an innovative 2 dimensional code for marking solar cells called microglyph™. The encoding is fully readable in spite of the reflection properties of polycrystalline silicon.
