Laser Cutting
Industrial laser cutting
Laser cutting of precious metals allows detailed parts
to be produced with high precision in small or large
batch sizes. The laser can cut through virtually all
the commonly used precious metal alloys, giving excellent
cut quality with very narrow cuts for the finest of filigree
designs.
The laser as a cutting tool offers several distinct
advantages:
Cut through in a single pass
Even parts over 2mm thick (depending on alloy) can
be cut through with very high quality and reasonable
cutting speeds without the need for repeated passes.
Fine kerf width
The laser kerf width can be as low small as 20 microns
in fine sheet material and this allows very small
radii to be used leading to crisp and detailed designs
in even the smallest of components.
Good edge quality at higher speeds
The high repetition rate of the laser means that
fine cutting with excellent edge quality can be achieved
at speeds that make good commercial sense.
Minimum product finishing
There is minimum burr on the cut edges resulting
in the smallest amount of post processing possible
(components are easily polished in volume).
Ease of personalization
The flexibility of the laser allows personalization
of brooches and necklaces and other items of jewelry,
with software to input the required graphics and
text.

StarCut Universal
Thanks to the modular housing concept, you can most easily change the or the StarCut Universal to an open laser class IV device. Normally, the large processing chamber and max. four highly precise Nc-controlled axes with 600 x 300 x 200 mm (optional 800 x 400) travel should suffice. Round work pieces and two-dimensional up to simple three-dimensional geometries can be processed fast and efficiently. |
