Laser Welding
Manual Laser Welding
ROFIN has developed the first manual laser welder in 1992 and has installed more than 4,000 lasers in this market. The very special properties of the manual welding systems have revolutionized the manufacturing and repair work of jewelry. The parts are positioned in a working chamber and viewed through a binocular with magnification and crosshair. Positioning and joining of the objects are done by hand of the operator and with a laser-spot. This means, no costly fixtures have to be made and no time consuming binding with steel wire has to be done to assemble parts.
Weld anything - anywhere!
Laser welding allows platinum, gold, silver, stainless steel and titanium (and many other alloys) to be joined together without the use of solder. A laser weld is strong and pure also in areas where it would be hard to gain access for other joining techniques. In general, if you can see the joint - you can laser weld it.
Repair times reduced
Whether the task is eliminating porosity of platinum castings or repair of damaged claws, ring sizing or repairing prongs, the laser is an essential tool to provide strong and invisible repairs of the highest quality in the shortest time. Watches, spectacles, bracelets, rings, necklaces – all of these can be returned to perfection using the fine focus of the laser beam.
Only the best material
By welding precious metals together without filler material or solder, it is possible to get high strength and avoid the impurities of potentially toxic alloys. In dental manufacturing or maxillofacial restructuring, the laser allows custom designed supports to be joined permanently without distortion. |
