Industrial ceramics can be marked with an Nd:YAG or CO2
laser. The Nd:YAG laser, owing to its high power density, is able
to ablate or evaporate the material. Medical ceramics require most
accurate markings with a very narrow process window. A high power
density and laser stability are key factors for a successful marking
of ceramics.
