High-grade steel

The StarCut Generation can be used to cut any metal. It is particularly suitable for stainless-steel sheets and foil up to 2 mm thick.

Depending on the thickness of the sheet, fine cuts down to a width less than 20 µm can be achieved. The cutting speed is a function of the thickness of the sheet, the width of the cut, the material, and the protective gas used.

Laser cuts are not only fine and made at high speed; they are remarkably burr-free and are characterized by a minimal warming zone. High-quality cuts are achieved by a high degree of overlap in the laser pulses - in many applications, pulse frequencies between 1000 and 4000 Hz are therefore necessary.
