Laser marking: flexible and permanent
Almost any metal can be marked with the laser. Workpieces
in the sector of tool and mould construction are mostly
engraved or tempered.
In laser engraving, the focused beam is used to create
a groove in the material. In this process, the material
evaporates and melts and due to the dynamic process,
it is ejected from the groove.
If the colour of the metal changes in the marking process
by exposure to hear and oxygen without noticeable material
ablation, the process is referred to as marking by tempering.
The main advantages of laser marking are the flexible
batch sizes and workpiece geometry the contactless processing
and the automation possibility.
