Looks like new!
Forming, punching or die casting tools are submitted
to great
strain every day. With time, wear, tolerances or damage
are
inevitable. Conventional repair methods are time-consuming
and costly. Distortion, softening and the formation of
cracks
limit your choice of applications. And frequently the
final
result does not meet the high quality standards of the
tool
and mold making industry. Components which have been
produced in a refurbished mold may even fail the strict
quality
tests performed by the end customer. As a result, the
mold must be replaced.
The solution for all these constraints and problems is
laser
deposit welding. Welding can be done on site and requires
only a minimum of pre- and post-processing, and achieves
material qualities which are equal to the original product
when new.
