Responsible for performing field service, diagnosis, repairs and new equipment installation, preventative maintenance of industrial lasers, systems and accessories at customer sites, as well as providing technical support and training to customers. Requires ability to lift 70 lbs.  

 Requirements:
Ability to analyze and interpret failure symptoms in electronic, electrical (including high voltage), mechanical and optical systems.  CNC and applications/systems experience a plus.  Good written and verbal communication skills including formal reports.  Ability to work independently.  Extensive travel required, including weekends.   AS/Electronics/Laser/Elctro-Optics or equivalent years of experience plus a minimum of one/three/five years-relevant experience (preferably field service).

Mechanical Engineer III
REPORTS TO: Chief Mechanical Engineer

Position Requirements:

• BS/MS degree in mechanical engineering, plus minimum of 5 years of related experience in mechanical design of Production Systems for industrial use.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Inventor a must.
• Experienced with project management.
• Supplier management skills & experience
• PC Skills -  MicroSoft Software (Outlook, Word, Project, Excel)
• Experience with optical systems desirable.

Position Responsibilities:

Responsible for mechanical engineering related to specific projects, including design layout, quotation support (including cost estimates for parts fabrication, engineering & manufacturing labor). Must be able to develop imaginative, thorough, practical and cost effective engineering solutions for a wide range of difficult problems. Manage outsourcing of mechanical design & engineering, as well as manufacturing related to specific ongoing projects. Must be able plan, estimate, and track projects, identifying key milestones and firm delivery of equipment to meet customer expectations.

Manage external resources with the objective of improving Rofin Sinar’s engineering capacity to:

• Reduce time to market for laser workstations by a minimum of two weeks.
• Allow flexibility to expand & contract with business cycles.
• Enhance new product development & implementation.
