Imagine opening a bag of sweets
without scattering the contents on the floor, or buying
vegetables in plastic bags which do not need
to be consumed the same day. Using a laser
to selectively weaken individual packaging
layers or to perforate the plastic film for air
exchange makes these two dreams become
reality. Both techniques are recent innovations
to further optimize the use of plastic films in
the packaging industry.
Optimizing Packaging – Made Easy
StarScribe Easy laser systems offer a costeffective
entry into the laser scribing and perforation
of plastic packaging. A turnkey,
mobile CO2 laser with an articulated arm
gives the flexibility required to integrate the
laser with an existing production line or winding
machine as a compact and low-maintenance
system. To this product familiy the
StarScribe Easy Remote adds more power
and a second wavelength of 10,25 μm, ideal
for certain materials like OPP or BOPP, to give
higher performance and even more constant
perforation quality. With laser output power of
up to 300 W, pulse energies of up to 290 mJ
and pulse frequencies of up to 100 kHz,
StarScribe Easy Remote can easily operate
four processing heads even at high web
speeds, scribing continuous or broken lines
for easy opening applications. Line interruptions
can be synchronised with printed marks
on the film.
Extra wide
Many standard slitter-rewinders use web widths
of up to 1800 mm. Even these dimension can
be easily covered by the StarScribe Easy
Remote. Multi-laser solutions are chosen for
higher numbers of perforation heads or high
power applications. They scribe or perforate
up to eight lines in a compact and affordable
system. |
