Polymer welding is an industrially mature process with high
growth rates. New laser additives now even allow perfect joining
of light-colored or transparent parts, opening up new possibilities
for the design of electronic components, medical devices or
automotive appliances. ROFIN offers a number of lasers that
have been optimized to meet the requirements of polymer welding.
The most compact of them: StarWeld® Diode.
Cost-effective and versatile
Lasers of the StarWeld® Diode family with their beam
characteristics and wavelengths of 808 and 940 nm are especially
well qualified for circular welding seams, spot welds and
wider welding seams. They are ideal for welding tasks involving
transparent laser additives. StarWeld® Diode lasers are
also very compact and offer an attractive cost/ performance
ratio and very high efficiency. Depending on the task, the
flexible fiber can be coupled either to fixed optics or to
a scanner head.
Fast switch
StarWeld® Diode lasers combine ROFIN’s established
platform technology with Dilas’ market-leading diode
technology and patented beam shaping. For fast and easy programming
we offer the comfortable LaserCAD software package. A newly
developed fast beam switch helps to extend the life-time of
the diode lasers. The flexibility of the laser is completed
by a number of additional modules and options, like integrated
pilot laser or camera monitoring for application set-up, pyrometers
or setting-gap measurement for process control, and integrated
power monitoring.
