You're too small for full automization? CNCcontrolled lasers aren't profitable? CNC is too complex for a small production lot? That's all water under the bridge now, with ROFIN's leading manual welding tool Performance, with up to 3 + 1 CNC-controlled axes: A highly compact and precise system with outstanding cost-efficiency. Easy to program and therefore ideal for small to mediumsized and even large companies in the medical device industry, sensor manufacture, die casting or jewelry industry. Its strenghts lie also in manufacturing of prototypes preceding larger production volumes.

CNC Made Easy

Programming the Performance CNC is extremely simple: The operator can use the mouse or the keyboard of an external laptop to jog the axes manually, thus quickly teaching the desired contours. Drawings can be imported or created via the CAD system and fed into the axes control system. Mounting and programming usually take less than five minutes. Direct CNC programming in compliance with DIN ISO 66025 is also possible. All programming methods can be combined, to allow, for example, for later adjustments of programmed paths.

Also in Manual Mode

With Performance CNC you can process workpieces measuring up to 400 mm x 200 mm x 100 mm (LxWxH). The length of the axes are 80 mm in the xy-plane and 140 mm for the z-axis, with a repetability of 20 µm or better and a travel speed of 10 mm/s. Furthermore the system can be used as a manual welding tool without any retrofitting.

Tried and Proven Basics

The laser technology, which the Performance CNC has adopted from its basic model Performance, has proven itself in thousands of installations. It offers pulse frequencies of up to 20 Hz, pulse durations of up to 50 ms and energies of up to 100 J, as well as the patented Sweet Spot Resonator® and patented flexible Pulse-Shaping.
