Invisible and Inseparable

Dust and humidity-proof bonds, crack resistance, excellent aesthetics, joints can even be invisible – PolyScan can laser weld polymers with a new level of quality. The low heat input to the workpiece allows welding very near to sensitive components. Overlap welding means that the weld is produced inside the component and is not identifiable from the outside. The latest diode-based laser technology is easy to handle and offers very attractive investment and maintenance costs. The PolyScan is the best example: a new, turnkey system for contour and quasi-simultaneous welding of polymers.

A Complete Solution

Laser source, deflection unit, control unit, power supply and cooling, flat screen with multi-screen function: you will find everything integrated in one compact device. The loading and unloading as well as the programming and the control of the system are done in a fatigue-free seating position. Programming of the continuous path control and the control of the status parameters can clearly be done via monitor. Even the welding process itself can be observed via an optional camera.

The new StarWeld Diode laser family provides a range of operating wavelengths (808, 940 and 1064 nm) all with best beam quality and performance. This means that the wavelength can be selected to provide the best absorption for the plastic. The diode lasers have patented beam shaping and the diode-pumped solidstate lasers have a patented excitation unit for extremely high efficiency and focusability. Choose between highly focussing micro welding lasers of the YAG series for welding track diameters from as little as 0.1 mm and the high-performance diode lasers for track widths upwards from 0.5 mm or for welding of transparent or light polymers.

The galvanometric deflection head moves the laser beam over the large processing area with high precision and high speed – ideal for contour welding and in particular for quasisimultaneous welding.
